However you feel about anyone burning the American flag for any purpose, do you feel the same way or differently about burning the flag of an individual state? Would it offend you any more or less if your own state's flag was burned?

Would you support an amendment to your state's constitution to ban the practice? What if the flag was burned in another state?

For example, suppose you lived in Ohio and your neighbor burned an Arkansas flag. Would it matter to you? Would you support Ohio banning the practice of flag burning, or just burning the Ohio flag?

I'm from California, and I've met people who would burn my state's flag if I gave them one. How is this different than a foreigner burning a U.S. flag for whatever reason?

No, I would not support that amendment. It is a waste of time and money as there are many more important issues I want my State's legislature to work on like how to keep jobs from leaving our state.

I don't think it is appropriate to burn state flags any more than it is appropriate to burn the American flag (unless of course it is done to retire a flag)
I would support an amendment to my state's constitution that made the burning of my state's flag a crime.

If someone wants to burn a state or national flag, probably made in China anyway, let 'em. Someone burning a state . . . or nation's flag . . . is probably no less patriotic than the next guy . . . just a little more angry about the way he sees things going.
All this hoopla about constitutional amendments banning flag burning is just political grandstanding to influence the votes of morons.

To burn the state, American or any other flag is a protected right. No state would be able to legally amend or pass law overwriting the constitution.

How many flags have been burned within the past five years? Why would anyone want to burn any flag? We have more important things to worry about.

Burning a flag is the proper and legal way to dispose of a flag. Infact, it is the only acceptable way to dispose of a flag in the U.S. You are not suppose to throw them in the trash, you are suppose to burn them.

But burning a flag to protest, I don't see the point. I understand what it's suppose to mean but it never accomplishes anything.

Why bother?

I think burning a flag is a bad idea but I think legislating for or against it is a stupid and bad idea.

Saying f%$ y!* to any one in not a good idea. It destroys and does not construct.
This is a question as to weather one should be legaly protected when they destroy.
This is an academic arguement. It is a bod idea even it is legal.
