Green?
That is algae.
Did you have heavy rain?
Rain will cause your pool to turn green if your chlorine level is not proper.

First back flush your filter till clear.
Check chemical levels first and see if your PH and Alkaline are correct.
Add shock, follow directions.
Should clear up immediately.

sounds like you have not added any kind of chlorine to your pool in a long time. sounds like your pool water is pretty warm also
the chemical you should use is called sodium dichlor. 1 lb per 10,000 gallons of water 1 time a week
if you have cartridge filters you should have these cleaned
if you have a sand or de filter you should backwash these very well for as long as you can without sucking air into the filter pump. you will need to vacuum an brush the pool after the algae has been killed
