Pink Floyd, GreatfulDead, Ten Years After, Bloodrock, Cactus, Three Dog Night, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Jefferson Airplane, David Bowie, Donovan. just to mention a few. This list should give you a good head start. I'd begin with the Greatful Dead's 5 disc set "A Greatful Dead Soundtrack". And being that you're such a Pink Floyd fan, dig into their very early stuff with Sid Barret whom might I add is the true grass roots to that band anyways. If you've ever heard of Floyd songs like "Arnold Lane" and "See Emily Play", Barret's the guy who wrote those songs. But if you really wanna veg out with some mind altering appeal, go buy a copy of Floyd's First pre-curser to "Dark Side of the Moon", "Medal". Good stuff manard! Now go roll a fatty and swim to the dark side.

Start with Led Zepplin 1 thru 4, Black Sabbath, Jefferson AIrplane, Buffalo Springfield, Alice Cooper, Start with those... go to the video store and rent The Song Remains the Same... Its an awesome movie/documentary of Led Zepplin. I absolutely love it! Their music is unbeleivable. Jimmy Page rocks! There were great musicians! Thats when music was good! Have you seen Pink Floyds "The Wall"? rent that too! I grew up with all this music. ITs wonderful!

Not much new to add without just repeating other choices, but I would also throw in some of the Beatles records. In particular Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Peppers.

Radiohead has a lot of psychodelic influence. I would look into OK Computer and Kid A.

Also, there is a group called Can from the 60s who used to record their records on acid. I've only heard one of their records and it was a while ago, but I remember it being pretty awesome and pretty interesting in that way.

And I would like to support the answers of Hawkwind and the Mars Volta as they are less obvious ad very good choices.

Not so much psychodelic as just very orchestrated in a rock way, but it fits in well is Godspeed! You Black Emperor. They are really great. You might want to check them out
