This passport stuff is rubbish. The Russians with all the identity cards in the world - internal passports as they are known - just do ethnic profiling and they do not have much in the way of problems, even with the trouble in Chechnya. They station police at airports and railroad stations and because they are doing ethnic profiling, there is not any real delay to most people, even though they are thorough.

If this were a crime that you had to be 6 feet high to do, should we be searching midgets? It is just so stupid.

why would you be so willing to blame someone for your shortcomings? we all knew that this law was coming 2 years ago and if you got caught at the last moment who is to blame? i didn't get a passport because i don't plan on traveling out of the country but i have to laugh at those that are interviewed on tv news cast and they tell the reporter that it shouldn't take 8 weeks to get a passport. i ask why they waited so long in not ordering a passport when the law was passed some two years ago. same same people just don't want to be responsible for their actions but rather blame them on someone else. i guess it is just another black eye for pres bush.

No but their meddling in the stock market through their plunge protection team while I was on vacation cost me 5x what my vacation cost. They don't want free markets to operate on their own because it might make them look bad.

Reimbursement? Ha! Its a 3 step process - BOHICA, SNAFU and then FUBAR. Get used to it because its only going to get worst. These people are beyond clueless. They just don't care because they are the Powers That Be and to them its all that matter.

Thankfully, I had my passport in hand when the laws went into effect.

But since I now hate traveling by air thanks to the other lingering stupidity invoked after the World Trade Center towers fell, I have only traveled commercially only once since 2001.

I'll drive 1000 miles before I set one foot on a commercial flight.

No, I had to postpone it because a liberal democrat stole $20,000 from me. I know he was a lib/dem cause he told me he was. He worked for me and he stole everything in my business.

No but then again, since I'm smart enough to spell words properly, I think I could handle this on my own and not involve the government.
