For example, could we all go by GMT?

You have to understand that noon will still be when the sun is highest, and midnight will be 12 hours after noon. It's just like how noon during daylight savings time is at 1:00 instead of at 12:00.

Yes. Some people have proposed this as an alternative to our time zone system now in place. I know as a computer administrator that having a consistent time around the world would make keeping track of dates a lot simplier.

I gave your question a star.
I don't see why not. GMT or universal time were established for the purpose of standardization. Just like the metric system has become standard all over the world in science and musical notation has become standardized. But time has the problem of people's dependence on the sun. There are many who just can't stomach the idea of high noon being in the middle of the night. But look at the seasonal reversals between the northern and southern hemispheres. That hasn't caused any major problems as far as I can see.
So why not? It would be great never having to calculate the time somewere else. And personally, I don't care if the sun is high in the sky at midnight. It's just a star!

it would be the same as military time. 24 hours but the differences around the world would still make it hard because the same time would be different times of day for every country. terms like day/night, noon, midnight would loose all relativity since noon here would be midnight in asiaand with a global time it they would both be 6:00. no am or pm just 6:00 it would be light for some and dark for others. it is possible but it would be hard to get used to it

we cannot all have a single global time, moreover we are beings with different missions and visions, and purpose equally differs, it's obvious that some people came around the GMT but not all, so its clear, capital NO!!! we came differently and our going will be different , it's obvious that the farther continents such as the acient continents are already in the following day , eg. singerpore, Japan etc. so you can see that its not possible to have the same single global time.

Yes we could have a single time. After all time is relative. People would have to accept a new way of see seeing time but it wold work out all the same.

We could but why should we? There are lot more important things on which to waste resources!
