I'm going for a vacation to Vegas July 15-21 and I've heard you can negotiate the price for either an air or bus tour to the grand canyon if you wait until you get there as opposed to trying to reserve on line. Any thoughts or ideas as to the best and cheapest way to do it? Anyone know of any promotions or discounts? Any help appreiciated. Thanks.

The best place to look for this type of discounts is SearchAllDeals. Just start with a search term like "grand canyon tours from Vegas".

Some passengers on one of those tours to the west rim said they paid $150 each to go there and they got a cheesy plastic wrapped sandwich for their lunch. They also had their vehicle break down on the way so they had to wait 3 hours for a replacement vehicle to come get them.

You can rent a car and drive to the south rim (much more beautiful) in about 3.5 hours (about the same amount of time it takes to get to the west rim) - with the high cost of gas, you can probably pay about the same amount as one person's fare on the tour.

The only reason to go to the west rim now is the glass thingie where you can walk out over the rim and look down - but it costs $50 each, I think, and you can get the same sort of vertigo from the top of the Stratosphere for under $20.

You can go by motorcoach well under 100 dollars, if you would like a helicopter tour, you are looking from around 200-300 dollars. Check the link out below for the best priced tours.

Check this website I found on google. I think it might help. If you're still stuck, go to Google and type exactly "Cheap Grand Canyon Tours".
