my mother and i are looking for an adoptoin center in louisiana where we can house an exotic animal at our house until it grows up. is there an organization like that? iv seen it on animal planet and now we would lke to do that. preferably animals like cougar cubs or baby monkeys, ya know, stuff like that! please! any info you may have about exotic animal adoption in louisiana or anywhere near the state of louisiana! thanx everyone!

Chances are.. no. And thank goodness for that.

LA has very strict exotic laws in their state and unless you are a certified rescue center or have an OK from probably your local Fish and Wildlife/Game you would not even be able to house one for a center.

It takes far more to take care of an exotic than you think... leave it to the professionals.

I got my two guinea pigs from a pet shop but I did get my cat from an adoption centre he was lovely and so cute his name was bobby but unfortunately we had him for around half a year and then he got hit by a car :( i really support the RSPCA and believe that u should give animals a second chance in life a couple of years ago I raised £80 for the RSPCA!!!! Also I'm getting 2 pet ferrets soon and I will be getting them from a shelter!

It sounds like you want to make a difference in an animal's life. I wouldn't recommend brining an exotic home for various reasons, included the permits mentioned above.

If your desire really is to be around animals and "help" them try a local Zoo (AZA accredited) or nature center and see what kind of volunteer programs they have.
