No, but thats a common mis-hearing of the lyrics, Hendrix's only queer-themed song that I know of was "Dolly Dagger".

That's actually from a song by Jimi Hendrix called "Purple Haze." The actual line is "excuse me while I kiss the sky," but what you heard is very common :)
That particular snippet of lyrics continues to be one of the most misheard lyrics in all of music history.
And no, I don't believe he was gay.

It is "Excuse me while I kiss the sky", and the song is called "Purple Haze" by Jimi Hendrix. No he's not gay, he's been dead for a number of years.

Jimi Hendrix singing Purple Haze, the line is kind of deliberately unclear so you can't tell if he's saying...kiss this guy or ...kiss the sky. Its a great, great song, a classic, and Hendrix was one of the giants of rock.

Like everyone else said, but the song "Purple Haze" was one of the many acid rock songs from the late 60's-early 70's. A reference to LSD or purple blotter acid. Jimi Hendrix was well rumored to place hits of blotter acid in his head-band before getting on stage and playing his guitar.

The untold story:
Purple Haze was Jimi Hendrix way of reaching out. It really was "kiss this guy" that is why the song is titled Purple Haze. There is little doubt in my mind that his drug use was because of his suppressed feelings.
Just think of all the wonderful songs we might have heard had society been more open and accepting 40 years ago.
