Well, according the mayans, yes it is! On Dec. 21 2012, they predicted total destruction. This has been clarified in science lately through the cycles of the solar flares, every 44 years they are aimed at the earth, and every 5128 years it is alighned perfectly with the universe axis which will make them extremely devastaing. Coincidentley enough, this year falls in 2012......
Solar flares will cause power outages across the world, mess with every sort of electronic device ever created, and perhaps melt polar ice caps. Destruction? I think so.
The half alignment occured in roman times, and the destruction was documented in fires across empires... It can only be imagined the full alignment
