If I relace the old battery in my key, will the key have to be re-coded. I only have 1 key and dont want to lock myself out. I have a Dagenham dustbin (Ford Focus)

The key keeps its code - it is the car that can be recoded, not the key.

The Focus is made in Saarlouis in Germany, not in Dagenham (although the diesel engines are assembled in Dagenham).

Im sure that if you replace the battery straight away it shouldnt need recoding. If it does then do it yourself (check manual but usually you can do this with the ignition in the car.
