how old are you? I know from my own experience when I was younger I always wanted pets but my mum always ended up looking after them. I know you think you'll always walk the dog / clean the hamster cage / change the cat litter tray, but trust me, you'll get bored of it after a month or so and your mum will end up doing it.

Show her how responsible you can be by keeping tidy etc and if you manage to convince her to get you a pet, be 100% sure you will look after it, pay for it etc for YEARS to come

Your mother realizes that getting a pet can be expensive and requires a lot of attention from the owner. To increase your chances of getting a pet, prove to your mother that you are responsible and promise her that YOU will be the one who will care for the pet. If you were thinking of getting a dog or cat, its understandable that your mother wouldn't want one in thier house. They require TONS of attention and cost thousands for vet visits, food, toys, etc. If this is your first real pet, aim low. When I was younger, my mother told me that we could get a dog if I could prove I was responsible with a goldfish. I reccomend you try getting a guinea pig or chinchilla. They are a lot of fun to play with and live relatively long, but do need their cages cleaned a few times a week. Good luck, and remember, hamsters and lizards can be just as much fun as dogs and cats!

Sadly I'm afraid that mom pays the bills so she has finally say. However if you can convince Mom that you are responsible enough to have a pet and that you will look after it, and mean it then maybe she will relent.

Unfortunately far too many moms end up looking after pets that kids just had to have, I'm sure that your mom has enough to do looking after you. Talk to her you never know she might say yes, depending of course on what pet you want!!

Badger her - nicely and be very very very good. Your Mum will never say 'yer alright then' straight away as she will want to be sure that you are capable of taking care of a pet. She'll also want to see how serious you are and will worry that you may lose interest. So if you are serious and the type of pet you want is suitable for your circumstances, keep letting her know. Good luck.

It is lovely having pets but what you have got to remember they have got to be looked after. What your mum is worried about is that once the initial novelty has worn off then she will end up caring for it. I know this for a fact as we have two Guinea pigs and unless I keep reminding my daughter I am the one that ends up cleaning them out.

Get an easy pet like a fish but remember if YOU want a pet its your responsibility so if the fish tank needs cleaning then you have to do it

How old are you? I am sorry to say that as long as you live in your Mama's home then you go by your mama's rules! She probably has good reasons for not wanting a pet now. Try talking to her.
Good luck and God bless

Go for a duck they live in the garden, give your mum eggs and look so cool. I would get two though they need company. So cheap to keep. I love my ducks. Good luck
