Just think of the efficiency ... It would be a lot easier if those of us in the middle class could just mail our hard-earned money in the form of big, fat checks to the Oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, Department of Defense contractors, HMOs, clear-cut logging, coal, and nuclear energy companies. Oh, and we mustn't forget out friends at Halliburton.

Why go through the trouble and expense of having these fine, upstanding industries lobby and conspire with the Republicans to find creative ways to pick our pockets. If we could mail our checks, the Repubican sugar daddies would still get the money they deserve ... the Republicans could wet their greedy little beaks ... and the poor and middle classes could still pay for it all. It would really save time and effort in getting screwed ... A Republican dream could continue.

Better yet, can we set up direct deposit into the secret accounts of Halliburton in Saudia Arabia. Then we wouldn't even have to lick a postage stamp?

Wow, I do not think I can respond to such a question. I just tell you a little about Halliburton since you seem so interested in it. My father works for a company which like Halliburton received no bid contracts for work in Iraq. The real reason why these companies get no bid contracts is because there are no other companies that can do what needs to be done in the time frame it needs to be done. They day the government gives Halliburton a contract they already have men and necessary supplies/equipment on the way to Iraq. Any other company that does the same kind of work would needs months (if not years) to get ready to begin work. The governments goal is to get the work done as efficiently as possible, in order to do that they need companies like Halliburton.

The fact that Halliburton is moving its headquarters overseas does bother me, but they do most of their work over there and with America's high tax rate, I cannot really blame them.

Well, you can't really mail it direct. But if you mail it to the teachers' unions, they'll take their cut, then send it on to the welfare state. Whatever's left can then be forwarded to Halliburton.
