i saw on a web site saying that with electric yellow cichlids oyu need to strip them when there giving birt what does this mean

They are talking about removing the fry from the mothers mouth. I have electric yellows and have never had to do this. I think the web site is saying if you want to save all the fry you have to strip. Normally if you have some slate on the bottom of your tank as well as some good ground cover you will keep some. Don't strip you fish unless you know how to do it.

This web site has some information on breeding your fish and striping the female but hopefully she will release on her own and you wont have to do this.
