= 1040

+ 1000
= 2040

+ 30
= 2070

+ 1000
= 3070

+ 20
= 3090

+ 1000
= 4090

+ 10
= 4100


ahah! I've come across this before!
at 4090 + 10 ==> a lot of people would mentally add it up to 5000, because they see it as 4990 + 10

here,4*1000+(40+30+20+10)
or 4000+100=4100 ans.

Well i got 5000 but then again i am absolutley usless at maths and im assuming this is a question where the obvious answer is not right. I already no im wrong and i havent used a calculator yet. :P

hahaha, yes, i get it now i read it properly. I always get caught out by things such as these. :P 4100 stupid me. :)

Last week, at Brainiac: Science Abuse was this question, with the same sum.
They said you could get tricked and say 5000, but the sum was 4100. :P

4100(honestly)
actually first instead of adding 100 i added thousand and ended up with an answer 5000!.But when i rechecked it,it was4100.
really a little tricky!
