The Pope lives in Vatican City which is an independent country surrounded by the city of Rome, Italy.
Catholics do not believe in reincarnation. Just as it is appointed that human beings die once, and after this the judgment ... (Hebrews 9:27)
As a teenager and young man, Pope Benedict XVI was drafted into the Hitler Youth and the Nazi German Army just like every other non-Jewish German male. He was not given a choice.
The Pope is not and never has been a Nazi. He unfortunately was born and grew up in a country ruled by the Nazi party.
Every draftee into the Hitler Youth and the Nazi German Army was not a Nazi.
Thank God that you and I live in a very different world that the Pope did in 1930s and 1940s Germany. Or do we?
With love in Christ.

The Pope lives in the Vatican City which is in the environs of Rome. Rome is in Italy and not England. Apparently he was a very young member of the Hitler Youth movement towards the end of the war and left it as soon as he was able to. I do worry though about you thinking that Rome is in England. Never mind the Pope, get some more general knowledge.

The Pope lives in the Vatican City, Rome, Italy- a sovereign state since the 1940's under a treaty signed by Catholic fascist mass murderer Benito Mussolini and still honored by the international community today.
Let me absolutely and perfectly clear regarding the historic and indisputable facts concerning Ratzinger and Adolf Hitler.
1. Ratzinger was a member of the Hitler Youth- the most elite and prestigious group of young people in Nazi Germany up until 1945.
2. No one was ever drafted to the Hitler Youth. It was an honor above all others to be a member and millions of German youth tried and failed. Only those who had "pure Aryan" bloodlines and were fervantly pro-Nazi could ever join.
3. The only way Ratzinger could ever become a member of the Hitler Youth was to willingly join. Any other statement by Catholic apologists, spin doctors and pr agents is simply and deliberately contrary to historic and well documented fact.
4. There is no way the Catholic Church can explain away the fervant pro-Nazi position of Ratzinger as a youth, nor his imprisonment as a POW member of the Nazis.
5. As far as how many non-Nazis the Pope killed, we will never know. Only God, Ratzinger and the dead know the truth and at this stage, I doubt any honesty regarding this subject will be forthcoming.

Rome, England??? Your geography (you just have to be from USA) is as messed up as your history!
He was born in 1927 and was only 12 when WW2 began. He did enrol in the Hitler Youth but then again so did every boy aged 10 and over, as it was a legal requirement to do so after December 1939.
I'm not Catholic and have no axe to grind over this, but the Pope definitely wasn't a Nazi.

Yes I think the Pope was a member of Hitler Youth I do not know if he was coerced or not but at that time i do not think it was easy to refuse and think of the attractions of camps etc. any boy would want to join and would not think of the political over-tones. It was the same with the young Communists League in USSR so I do not read much into it.

If you ignore all the obvious errors in the question and you don't live in a fascist state that controls every aspect of peoples lives.Any refusal of an order or suspicion of non-conformance ends in a one way train ticket. If you are a child in that situation, what would you do?Join the communist party?Or do what everybody else does.Hindsight is a wonderful ,isn't it?I'm not a catholic so haven't got an axe to grind, but isn't Christianity all about forgiveness and renewal of the human spirit?
