A positive gang would roam the school yards or the streets looking for bullies who hurt people and straighten them up. A positive gang would keep the peace for real; not like the police, but better, and with more with humanity in mind instead of defending only the people with the most money.

I have a very low opinion of gangs as they are just punks that like to commit crimes and get into fights and shoot outs with other gangs and all they do is cause pain and misery for others and innocent victims that happen to get in their way. If they ever was a positive gang that would be good but unfortunately they probably wouldn't last long because the other gangs would find out where they live and/or where they gather and do drive bys and shoot them which is sad :(

the term gangs has a negative connotation, so if it's a positive group, doing something comstructive and uplifting for it's members, then i think it would be better to call the group something other than a "gang". Maybe club, or organization will do...
As far as bad gangs, i think its a sad sad thing. Our youth is in a state of moral decay and so many are turning to gangs, for so many reasons. Bad gangs, i don't think there's any real positive side.

We all need friends, I guess calling your friends a gang is a cool thing to do, unfortunately after you start calling yourself a gang you get it into your head this means you need to commit harmful acts. Seems to me there should be "hug" gangs, people who wear matching headbands and go around hugging people against their will. That would be cool.

I think gangs qualify as large groups of people, and I have always said, "never underestimate the utter stupidity of large groups of people". Two of my least favorite gangs for instance would be the republican and the democratic parties.
gang mentality is one where the individual is discouraged, if not outright prevented from thinking for themselves and making their own decisions, for that reason I find them of little or no value.

Personally I HATE GANGS.. both my cousin, and father were killed by gang activity..so obviously i wouldn't be to fond of them

if they set out to be positive yeah. i mean if instead of graffiti everything they picked up trash or joined together to bust ppl who are selling drugs and stuff...that sounds kinda like the boy scouts.....
