I am a huge Dallas Mavericks fan and I can see that they need much better inside play from the forwards and center. I also see that they need better athletes off the bench. The Mavericks need, more than anything, toughness. The player I would love for them to draft would be Sean Williams from Boston College. He is a behavior problem but I think Avery can help him in this area. I also like forward Glenn Davis of LSU and point guard Dominic James of Marquette. The Mavs draft only in the second round currently, but they have three picks in the second: No. 34, No. 50, No. 60.

Tought to say because who knows which player will jump from second to first round but, since they do not have to give guaranteed contracts to these players it would be great to build up some youth on the team.
Two possibilities in picks, solve guard or big man issue.
My picks as Dallas GM would be:

#34: I would want to address my big man issue at first and draft Marc Gasol to play along Dirk. That would be a good combination for the team. I would not want Nick Fazekas because he is already like Dirk, in a big man who can shoot the three. But Marc can play inside and that is what Dallas needs on the team.
or
if I wanted a true point guard other than Terry I would select Taurean Green from Florida and then a big later on in the draft.

#50: Here I would go with a forward and a leaper. Jermareo Davidson would be an excellent rebounder and I really think he can be the second round sleeper of the draft. I believe Dallas should draft him at the 50 spot.

#60: only player I know of that would be good would be Sean Singletary. Other than that, unless a good player drops far than he would be there pick there.

You're right, they definitely need a big man presence at center. Dampier and Diop really don't cut it and this is where they're seen as weak. A strong rebounder/shot blocker there will also free up more opportunity for Dirk to work the perimeter, which is where he's really at his best. I do like Davis and think he'd be a nice pick in the 2nd round. I also have to say that Nick Fazekas shouldn't be overlooked and could turn out to be a great role player in the league.

Look for them to trade the pick, or take one of the Europeans if they slide that far.

Otherwise, that pick will be traded for another draft pick next season. Cuban has no interest in Sean Williams.

Get the best available talent. You never know who might pan out and thrive in the league.
