I can get the alt + letter combos to work for me so that I get the little symbols such as á,®,ü.... But when I try to make them with the numbers pad I get nothing and yes my num lock is on. I had to change the language setting to US International on my keyboard to get the letter combos to work. Is there another setting I should be using? I know this is something simple to fix but yet I have made it complicated, so thank you in advance for the help!

Well, you might want to use the shift key instead not the alt key. shift+7=& alt plus+7= (nothing) is there is no printable scan code for that key combo..

For some reason, some programs will not recognise the number pad, or if they do, will only recognise the values listed on the keys.
