I am 14 and I have acne too!!! It pisses me off so much that sometimes I just start crying because I think that I am not pretty. The only advice I can give you is wash your face two times a day and put a topical, and a cream on it afterwards. And if you can, go to your doctor and have him/her prescribe you with some safe pills that tones down the acne. I went to my regular doctor and she prescribed some medication to me and it works along with me washing my face everyday. But around that time of the month I still get pimples every now and then but I guess we just have to deal with it....I mean we are girls and we can't change anything like that. I hope I have helped you and good luck!!

If you have extremely bad acne, you may need to go to a dermatologist and they'll put you on some medications. Benzaclin is a really good acne fighting cream that you can ask about.

Assuming that your acne isn't that bad, try putting toothpaste on your pimple over night and then icing it in the morning. I'm not a fan of proactive, but their clay mask works wonderfully on zits. Put it on overnight and your pimple will be sooo much smaller the next day.

Cleanse with a cleanser that has salicyc(sp) acid in it and/or scrubbing beads. I love St. Ives apricot scrubs! Neutrogena is kinda pricey, but their products for oily skin work pretty good.

When covering up a pimple, use Neutrogena's zit coverup and they have a great foundation just for people who have oily skin. Bonus: it has an spf in it! Prescriptives is pricey, but they have the best foundation for MY oily skin.

My 16 year old daughter saw a dermatologist and we discovered it wasn't just acne but a type of atopic dermatitis as well. She uses Elidel Cream most of the time. Perhaps you can ask your parents to make you an appointment to be sure what you have on your skin. Most insurance companies pay for this type of doctor other than perhaps a co-pay. My daughter did have her dermatologist suggest Nutragena products as well. Also Vaseline was suggested for softening the scars when she saw a plastic surgeon for her hand injury she had a few years back it helped her face too. Mineral makeup also hides as heals the skin if the right color can be found. You/ your parents can also call companies or e-mail them and ask for samples of the over-the-counter products. It saves money for you by trying out something to see if it works for your skin. Good luck.

OMG girl I know exactly what you're going through. I can never remember having lower self esteem than when I had acne. I tried a number of things clean and clear, acne free, proactiv... EVERYTHING! Finally I got a dermatologist. Let me tell ya girl it was like a dream come true. Sometimes skin care products just seem to irritate skin and make things worse. I recommend mild skin soaps like Noxzema and Cetaphil they can be found at regular grocery stores and are very inexpensive. They are effective and help to clear pimples and blemishes quickly. Trust me if it works for my skin it'll work for yours! ☺☻

You have to get your parents to take you to a dermatologist.
If there was a over-the-counter cure that worked, would anybody still have acne?
