My friend, I feel for you because my situation was the same. My husband treated me badly for 20 years and when I finally had had enough my mother alienated me and chose him. I have never forgotten it. We didn't broadcast the reason we were breaking up because I didn't feel our personal life was anybody elses business. Now I wish we had. Believe me, it will make a stronger person out of you.

That's a bit odd. Are you a big jerk to everyone around you, so they feel you got what you deserved? I don't know you or your family and you give no details, so it's hard to say why they would do that.
