The original singer is Kim Wilde.
The band who covered it for the Jimmy Neutron movie is No Secrets, an all girl band.
If you have been hearing a recent "Kids in America" for the new movie, "Nancy Drew", that's covered by the Donnas.

i don't know who was the original singer for the song but i know in the jimmy neutron soundtrack the girl group called no secrets sang kids in American song

The original was done by Kim Wilde. I'm an old school dj and I have the original remix on vinyl still....lol
