Does anyone know the main differences between the iBook G3 and the G4? Also, is the G4 different from OS X?

There are a few differences. The G3 was the first edition of the G series chips as such its also the slowest, the G4 was used in all the later laptops and has a faster system bus as well.

The latter also has improved harddrive capacity, better graphics cards and more ram. OSX doesn't really work any differently except in terms of speed.

the g3 and g4 are the motorola processors in them. there is a major speed upgrade between g3 and g4. os x is the operating system all new macs run.

g3 and g4 r processors. apple used powerpc before intel. mac os x is an operating system. also there generations genaration 3 genaration 4
