I’m looking for any studies or figures on average employee productivity, especially related to IT jobs.

I mean how much time are people actually productive, working on a business project, rather than idle (or googling/ebaying).

I know this is tougher to figure than say manufacturing but any clue/link would be helpful.

Just what do you mean by employee productivity statistics? In IT that's not as easy a question as in manufacturing.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics might have what you are looking for.

Also, Honeywell has been involved with Six Sigma for the last 10 years. As such they must collect metrics to evaluate efficiencies and waste.

You might research Honeywell, especially the Defense Systems divisions.
