Depends for whom.
Philosophy is dangerous to people who want man to remain ignorant so that they can be controlled, like some leaders and other villains with vested interest.
The word Philosophy comes from Greek 'philosophos' wich means "Lover of Knowledge", wich comes from the word "sophia" that means (knowledge or wisdom).

I find philosophy very interesting and have read some books in that field. I do think it can be dangerous for someone to self analize who is suffering from mental illness. This is a serious field with a lot of branches and one should stay grounded while learning it.

Why would Philosophy be dangerous? It helps people think, and if Logic is studied, it shows people how to think. I loved studying it and still do. There is a lot of the old Philosophers writings that are relevant to today. Especially in our government and society.

From a phemonological, ontological, and neo-Spenglerian perspective that is informed by post-Deleuzian speculative antidisestablishmentarianism in the epistomolical superstructure created and problematized by the imposition of teleological imperatives, I'd say that philosophy is dangerous for those who cannot pronounce its various buzzwords. There's a constant danger of biting your tongue in the process.

mmm, need to think about that. Philosophically speaking I think the question needs to be asked as to why anyone should think it dangerous. Surely to study something in depth resolves (or tries to) things that bother people/society and reflects insights learned. Debate opens avenues and perspectives and all problems/habits/ lifestyles and such need such debate and thinking to give insight to the human Psyche.

Only if ideas are taken from the subject and twisted up by a lunatic or a psychopath. Any school of thought can be corrupted by someone who is unbalanced.

of course its dangerous...it questions our existence and whether we exist at all...
philosophy wouldn;t be what it is without pushing the boundaries and neglecting what we are told is right... we reject this to find answers with philosophy and that is always questionable
