The Astros schedule has them on the road from today through 6/27 (eight games, one open date), then at home from 6/28 through 7/8 (the All-Star break begins 7/9). So unless he has a really hot week -- and he has been picking up hits lately (10 hits in a six-game streak) -- he'll probably get it at home.

However, the road series upcoming this weekend is in Arlington, and against the Rangers "pitching" staff, he might get those last ten hits in two games. Oy.

If he gets to 2997 on the road, I expect Garner will sit him until the team comes home.

Home
He needs eight hits and they have about seven games left on the road trip. Garner will hold him out of the day game and perhaps one other so I figure he will play in five road games. I seriously doubt he will get that many hits given the gravity of surpassing 3000. I expect him to get on a hot streak soon after he passes the mark unless Garner benches him and lets Burke or Loretta be the everyday 2nd baseman.

He will get it at home. Uncle Dreyton will pound on the table and make Garner sit him if they are on the road. Not like they are chancing hurting the season by sitting Craig down a couple games. Its a lot better show at home.

He'll get it at home. If he's on the road they'll probably give him a few days of "REST" to ensure he does it in front of the Houston fans. He has played there his whole career and he feels like he owes it to the city of Houston. Me personally, Craig owes us (Houstonians) nothing......We followed and supported him and he gave us 20 great seasons. Class Act

I would say it's 50/50 that he hits it at home, and 50/50 that he hits it on the road! Unless of course, they sit him for all road games!

Hopefully at home, but you can rest assured that if he does it on the road, it will be announced on the scoreboard and the fans (even of a rival team such as the Cardinals) will give him his due respect.

Hopefully at home in front of the Astro faithful. They could really use the emotional lift considering the play of the Astros as of late.

Probably at home, they might even hold him out of a game or two to make it happen.

I heard that he may sit the away games if he gets at 2999. So it will be home.
