Is it just me or could that headline read - "Muslim anger over any bloody trivial thing that offends our nasty, bigoted medieval view of the world."

That would make a great headline but I would change one world (which I put in all caps)

"Muslim anger over any bloody trivial thing that offends THEIR nasty, bigoted medieval view of the world."

Edit: Thumbs down me all you want but you don't see Christians threatening to attack someone because they happen to do a parody of Jesus. Jews don't go about physically attacking people just because they are being made fun of (in fact we probably wrote some of the jokes).

Muslims (not all but most) on the other hand will go ballistic if someone even grunts the wrong way at their Prophet.

Islam has ALWAYS accused Jews and Christians of corrupting scripture in the BIble. Rushdie makes light of the verses in which Muhammad once contradicted his monotheistic religious movement with statements regarding 3 other divine beings which he retracted saying that he was influenced by Satan when he said them. This is a historical fact even acknowledged by some Islamic scholars. But Islam and the Truth have little in common. Still, in the present political climate, you have to question what good can come from giving Rushdie a knighthood with the dire consequences
which are sure to follow.

To be honest it wasn't the best of moves was it! Apart from the fact that his life is a misery by having to hide all the time, and now the Queen has drawn attention to him.!! There must be so many more worthy people out there not getting any recognition.

I have to agree. I'm waiting for the headline "Muslim anger over people not giving them enough reason to be angry"

or "Muslim anger over toys being thrown out of pram"
