Ah, but he WAS a really good player in his day, wasn't he? He the fly ball Willie Mays caught in '54, didn't he?

No ! Too many Yankees in the Hall of Fame now. Now he might be worth going into the Yankees Hall of Fame for the team, but not Cooperstown.

You have absolutely got to be kidding us with this question. Bob was a one time (1958) All-Star, had a lifetime batting avg of .276 and hit a whopping 105 homers. He only had more than 100 RBI once. He NEVER led the league in any one offensive category! I can't see one reason why he would make a Yankee HOF, never mind the HOF for the entire league.

Bob was a good ballplayer in his own right, but nowhere near HOF material.
A .276 career hitter who only averaged about 10 homeruns a season doesn't make it.
