when a stranger approaches you and offers you a quarter for a cigarette do you accept the quarter or just give them a cigarette?

I just give them a couple cigarettes and tell them to keep their money and to have a good day.

I just give them a smoke, the first time. After that I sell them one for 40 cents. A quarter here in Texas doesn't cut it anymore.

It's gotten to the point at my job that I wonder if anyone brings their cigs to work, and I think word has gotten around that I'm a softie. I smoke about 5 cigs a day, but have to buy a pack everyday. Maybe I should start charging...

I give him the cigarette cos I know the feelings of smokers
it cost me nothing , but it might be important for the one who ask for .. and I should put myself instead of him before asking for money ..
any way I hope to get ride of it and wish the same for everybody

Make sure the person is 18 or older then just give them 1 or 2 that should last them until they can buy their own pack.

If it is an adult I will give them a smoke without the money.... if it is a kid I won't give them a smoke.... I tell them I only have a couple left....
And here for an extra smoke it is $1.00... the prices here for smokes are ridiculous...almost $8.00 for a pack of 20's....

In the neighborhood I live in that can happen to you four or five times a day. I finally got to the point where I tell people I don't have enough left to sell one.

take the quarter. if they are offering it I take it but I have also given cigs to people who don't offer quarter and just ask.
