Yep, that doesn't surprise me one bit.
Here's what they CAN'T see. Big business owns Hillary. What's your opinion as to who she's going ultimately support? Big business or unions? Big business, of course, is my opinion.
However, she'll rob those of us who work to pay for those who don't... The very people you have just pointed out.
Don't you love it?

I consider UNIONS to be essential in support of the working class.
Workers deserve to be properly rewarded for their efforts.
Obviously abuses abound in unions. They promote Socialism. I reject it.
They do not reward superior work and effort, but treat each employee as equal so the superior union member cannot receive his rewards but is forced to stand aside and see the fruits of his labor being given to another less qualified member just because that member has been in the union longer.
It there weren't unions, Big Business would not reward the working class in a just manner. We have centuries of proof for that fact.
Likewise, when unions become too powerful they suppress the growth of business and competition. The death of the railroad industry in the U.S.A. must be laid at the feet of the Unions. They had a bad habit of shutting down the entire U.S. econimy at every whim, so the government promoted and established the trucking industry and the enterstate system to create an alternative and eliminate the problem.
That hurts energy eficiency and the environment.
A balance is needed.
Greed is rampant on both sides.
BOTH groups, business and labor, reveal the SAME human flaws. Both can and DO use intimidation, even violence, to gain some advantage. Both are unfair and greedy.
Democrats are Socialists and so are unions. They are made for each other.
I believe in free enterprise and the forces of the market place. They promote what is needed and wanted in our society. Competition is healthy.
Your view of unions is accurate. They play to the lowest common denominator, and the Democrats play to the unions.
Big business and the Republicans are not free from well deserved scrutiny either.
I guess balance is required unless we can eliminate the human flaws from the system.

I use to be apart of a union when I worked at my very first job. The Union constatly LIED to me. The union I was a part of was a Closed Shop Union which has been illegal since 1948 but yet Close Shop Unions exist to this day. I had to pay Union Dues in order to keep my job. The union said they would take less than $1.00 for union dues and they took over $5.00 per paycheck for dues.
The reason why I believe Unions support Democrats is because Unions enjoy lying to their members and Democrats enjoy lying to the American People. Unions are hurting jobs in this country and most people who are in unions prefer to NOT be in a union.
I have a website called Union Facts so you can learn over 12.5 Million Facts about What Unions Do NOT Want You To Know including Lies, Corruption, Crime, and where your money actually goes. The website is www.unionfacts.com.

I think unions at one time were good. Now there are laws protecting the workers. All the unions I have ever been around are useless. They protect workers that can't or will not do their jobs from being fired. That's about it. And in some cases drive up the prices of goods. Priced a new car lately? Can we really expect someone making 10 dollars an hour to buy a car built by someone making 30 dollars an hour? And we wonder why car companies are in trouble.

I don't know where you live but I grew up in a union town. Because of economic downturns, the unions lost a lot of ground. I watched people with middle class backgrounds forced to sell their homes to move to take other jobs in other states, or just plain downsize to less desirable neighborhood.
I hear these right wing arguments all of the time. I'm 45 years old, traveled, and far from naive. I haven't seen any of the things you talk about. The people I've met who don't work wouldn't work if they were nonunion. Some people are just plain lazy.

I hated my teacher's union, as I think the factory model is a bad model to apply to teaching.
However, there is nothing wrong with an institution fighting for worker's rights like increased pay and benefits.
I don't understand why you wouldn't support an organization that is for the worker rather than the corporation. I highly doubt you are a CEO, so the union would benefit you.

The unions had a good purpose at one time, but now they are just corrupt and are hurting America as a whole...higher prices hurt everyone.
They are obviously not interested in the quality of their worker's so long as those due's are paid.

In the industry I work in, there's no need for a union, so I can't see how they are appealing to me.
