My lil cousin doesnt believe me when I say that it is currently impossible with a land vehicle.

I would like answers about cars LEGAL on the streets.

Top Fuel and other dragsters can do that. A rocket powered dragster can do it in 0.2 sec. A Top Fuel one will do it in 0.5 sec.
However, i don't think there's a street legal vehicle that can do it. The world's fastest street legal car, residing in the UK, can do it in 1.4 seconds.

I agree that there are no street cars able to do that. I am not so sure about the top fuel dragsters. With them doing 330mph in under 4.5 sec. They may be able to get past 60 in a sec. Although that is a guess, and I don't have any data to verify the answer.

No. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is the fastest car in the world, and it takes about 3 seconds for it to do 0 to 60.

No, 1 second is way too fast. I don't think there are many below about 4.
