There is an unlimited number of colors that a rose can come in. The process of cutting the stems and soaking them in dyed filled water, allows them to change color. Usually people start with a white rose, but other base color roses can be used and the dye then used to tint or highlight the pedals of the rose. The change in pedal color starts at the tip of the flower and works inward, like filling a balloon with water, the pedal gets wet as the dye settles in the out parts first and fill their way inward.

My favorite color for roses is purple. I have plenty of roses plant around the house. Some with thorns and some are not. They are still blooming right now. At night, the fragrance of these flowers are so strong that you can smell it even you're a bit far from the house. I love to take pictures of them and any flowers that I have and file it yearly. Sometimes people mistook the house as flower shop. I make some giveaways to any visitors who come and appreciate my flowers by giving them a pot of it.

I am fond of the color blue, the deeper and richer the color the better. This color is ofter called cobalt blue.
The colors are infinite, but in the English language we group them into Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet (Purple) the colors of the visual ligh spectrum.

There must be dozens of variations of reds, as well as oranges, yellow, white. I saw some once that were sort of dark purple, with white on the tips - they were beautiful. I don't care much for yellow roses, but like most other colors.

Any color you want.....what you can do is take a white rose, snip it then put it in a cup with a food color of your choice....then wait a little bit, then the rose changes color.
you can also snip the stem in the middle and put one half in 1 cup of a color and the other half in another cup of another color...then you have a multicolor rose

Except for true black and green, I think you can get just about any colour you want.
I am no expert on roses but I have been to a lot of rose gardens and I have seen just about every colour except black (true black) and green.
Any rose experts out there can tell me otherwise?
