Even prior to the steroid bump (and it's a bump, not his entire result. People tend to think steroids helped him hit 73 home runs in 2001, where it was more like 24-28 helpers), he was hall worthy.

I don't defend the use of steroids with the idea that "baseball didn't ban it", however if they continue to let him play now, they shouldn't turn around and stop him from going in the hall in 5 or 7 years.

With Rose, they gathered their evidence and brought him in right away and when the explanation was not forthcoming, he stopped being a part of baseball. They didn't let him continue to manage until he stopped, then said he can't get into the hall.

Bonds should be voted in using the results that individual think were naturally achieved and if I had a vote, I would vote yes.

For what?

Steroids Hall of Fame? First ballot

Baseball Hall of Fame? I would never put him in

Baseball needs to stick to the mantra that "Cheaters never Prosper". I love their stance on gambling but the fact that cheaters can still potentially make their hallowed Hall of Fame is a joke.

The "He was a Hall of Famer" before turning to steroids arguement doesn't wash with me either...Pete Rose was a Hall of Famer before he bet on baseball too...OJ was a sports hero before he chopped up his wife...Bonds legacy (just like everyone else) should be viewed as a whole not just taking out the parts we/others don't see as acceptable. The man is cheat!!! Who cares when it started?

No. But he will be. Commission Selig and baseball screwed the pooch on steroids, so guys like Barry Bonds will breeze on by. And since the issue WAS muffed, Bonds (gulp!) goes in. He's a troglodyte, a grating personality, an O.J. (Watcha gonna do about it?) Simpson, but in he goes. I would say more, but I feel dirty. I'm going to take a shower.

If Mark McGwire makes it into the HOF, then sad to say that Bonds will too. This is what baseball has come to.

Bud Selig needs to do something about Bonds before Bonds gets any closer to Aaron's record. Right now, baseball has a black eye because of guys like Bonds, Giambi and Palmeiro who tarnished our national pasttime.

As soon as there is a special category for Steroid users, sure.
It's not fair to those who got in on their own merits for someone who is augmented to get the same award.

Sort of like illegals getting amnesty and a leg up over all the immigrants who have and are following the rules to become citizens.

The cheaters cheapen the reward for everyone else and set a sad precedent.

Without a doubt, he's only one of the greatest hitters of his era. Will be the major league record holder in both Hr's and Walks, still feared now at 43 years old even when he is "off" steroids. Probably the greatest left fielder of all time. But stranger things have happened. I think Pete Rose should be in the hall by now too but he still isn't.

I would say yes pre steroid allegation but no now. Will Raphael Palmeiro or Mark McGwire ever be elected? Think about Hank Aaron's 755 homeruns for a moment, but does everyone realize he never hit 50 homers in a single season. That shows he was consistently hitting 40+ a year. Now that my friends, is a true athlete.

Yes.Hitting 747 home runs is an amazing feat. He's probably going to hit the all-time best record.
On the other hand I also think steroid producers should get him and Bobby Lashley on commercials.

I don't think he's the only guy using steroids in baseball.Players in the past and present have probably used steroids before,it's just that we didn't know about it.

I think he should be in the Hall because he was a Hall of Famer before he got huge and started hitting tons of homeruns. We forget that he was an elite player before he was transformed into Shrek. I don't think that even an admission of doing steroids will keep him out, because of how overwhelming his numbers are.

He should because most of his HR's happened before and after the steroid controversy. He also has the record for walks.....

If someone has the positive test results or actual confession that steroid use occurred, then absolutely not. No consideration for induction should be made official. NO CHANCE, if proven guilty!
