I asked a question earilier about how some racists are so low as to vent their hatred on children, and someone answered with this post
"I had to deal with a mixed race child who was treated so badly by both teacher and pupils. He held me so tight with anger and sob in my arms saying ' I am so tired and fed up, they treat me like this all the time. What have I done? By the time I calmed him down most teachers were watching and pretended it was not happening. I then called all the children and told them not to isolate him and that the one who plays with children who have no friends will get extra stars for being kind and helping others to feel good. I explained to them that it is wrong to treat others like that. Before long all the others were playing and running around with him. Only one teacher came round to say I saw what you did and that was the right thing to do. "
And I was wondering how many of these children that are mistreated turn into racists themselves?

There are just some people that don't want to see peace in the world. There are just some that want to hold onto the strife and make life harder than it has to be.
Racists should be isolated from civilization, they hold us back.

Great posting. I do believe that hatred does indeed create hatred. Hatred and bigotry are cancers that spread in so many ways and are so difficult to kill. Sadly, much of it is taught.
Based on the posting below I guess we also have to accept that some people simply do not posess the basic levels of maturity and intelligence to ever understand that this is a big world with a lot of different people in it and that everyone has value. It is ashamed though, that you cannot ask a serious question and receive responses that lead to mature discourse.

I agree with you, if hatred is all you see and receive then that is what you give back to the world. It is patterned learning. However, the example you gave shows the child knew he was being treated badly, so his home life when he was very young was most likely a loving one, so he could go either way. This particular life experience was a promising one, full of hope, given by a stranger. It's the children that don't know the difference that scare me.
But IMHO, you are correct.

I would tend to agree with you 100%. When people are mistreated they pick that up and assume that it IS the way that people are supposed to treat each other. We are ALL children of the Universe, and as such, we are ALL entitled to be treated with love, compassion, tenderness, and above all, RESPECT. OUT of respect comes acceptance of each other in SPITE of our inward and outward differences. I don't understand how SOME folks can hate others just because they are white, Black, Red, yellow, green, blue, WHATEVER. NOR can I understand how people can hate each other because of where in the world their parents came from, the religion that they follow, the political party that they belong to, or anything else. We need to start treating each other not by the GROUP we belong to but, rather, by the WAY that each individual treats us and how WE treat them. If you disrespect me, then I have the SAME right to disrespect you. It's just that simple.

Racism is hate. There is no other name for it...no matter who it comes from and who it is directed to. And the innocent are always the victims of those who "hate". It is often personal frustration, taken out on someone else who doesn't deserve it.
There are many other ways children are abused ....and yes, it they grow up without any love in their lives, they will in turn be the ones that "hate" and maybe turn to violence. It is proven out over and over in our society.
God says to love Him, and then to love others. It is very important to reach out to those who have no love in their lives...and there are many from child to senior.
So I guess "Find someone to love" would be a good slogan for all of us. And especially teach children to love each other.

Absolutely hate breeds hate! I see it like children being sponges...they absorb each and everything they see or hear their parents rant and rave about. You want to know about a man or womans values, listen to their children.
