Breast reduction?

Question

I have been having bad back pains, i think it may do to the weight that i have gained and the size of my breast. how do i go about having the procedure done without it costing me alot?

I had a breast reduction, and my insurance covered everything except my deductible. I had to go to my primary care physician and get a note from her that it would be the only thing that could work for my back pain to go away, and also that it was preventing me from exercising. She said that it would be best since I am not over weight and cannot go on a diet. I also went to my chiropractor and had her write a note saying that she believes my back problems are due to the size of my breasts.
My suggestion would be that if you gained weight, try to lose it so that you are at an average size for someone your height. Because if you are overweight, your insurance company would probably make you lose weight in order to determine whether or not that is causing your back pain, before they approve you.

I recently had a reduction and although I don't have insurance the surgery cost me AU $11,500. It may seem like a huge cost but really it is worth it. I took out a loan for the whole lot and have already paid off $3000 in 8 weeks, plus $1000 from the medical rebates.

If you gained weight on your breasts it may be worth trying to see if they decrease in size if you lose any of the excess weight. But of course this doesn't always work- I grew 2 cup sizes after losing weight.

I too had breast reduction. As stated, most insurances will pay if you can prove a medical necessity. If you have alot of neck & shoulder pain and it has been documented by your PCP. Get a copy of your medical records that prove you have had problems before. Go to a plastic surgeon and let them take pictures of your breast. Most file for you, but you may have to send copies of your PCP records to prove documentation. If you need to lose weight-it is better to do so before the surgery. But if it is only 10-15 lbs, the plastic surgeon said unless it was alot-10-15 lbs wouldn't hinder having the surgery. My ins denied the first time, but when I sent the documentation to prove why I was having it ,they approved it. I don't regret doing it. I do feel lots better. Good Luck!!

It can be covered by insurance. My ins company covered it 100% but some cover only part of it (50-100%).
