I recently bought a laptop and don't know much about computers. The guy I was seeing at the time hooked up the router and got things going for me. He is very computer saavy and has his own web page etc., is there anything he could have done/installed to be able to acess my computer from his? Also, on a private web page, can they see who views it? Thanks for your help!

he would need to have set up remote desktop on your machine, and to have installed a keylogger to get your username and password. he would also need your computer name/ IP address to access it. do you not trust this dude?

Firstly, you don't seem to trust the guy. I think you should worry only if you are hiding something from him ;-)

Going back to you question, it is always possible to install something on your PC that will allow him to control it remotely. But I'm afraid nobody can guess if he has installed anything. Check the links below for a short list of software that allows remote access. For your peace of mind, I suggest you ask a trusted friend who's familiar with computers to check your laptop.

If he set up your computer, it is possible he installed something to view it from his. It is certainly not common practice though. It would be like having your boyfriend set up your car and then copying the car key for himself. It's absolutely possible, just uncommon.

Someone who has a private webpage can see who views it. When you visit a webpage, your ip address* is logged and you can sometimes deduct using the information who visited it. (Or at least what general area they're from).

Hope that helps!

ip address is like your computer's mailing address. When you request a webpage, you include your ip address so the webpage knows where to send the information.

I think if he had set networking he can access your computer ,, 1st you need to do is right click My computer >>> on top u see remote >>> click it ..checkout both box , now at least he can't access your computer .

Next if he had install keylogger he can see all your passwords and your activities which you do on computer, this keylogger is not easily identified without a person who had install it.

if you can use some spyware like spybot may be keylogger can be find and deleted but if you can't install this spyware it means keylogger is installed in your computer
Better ask him about keylogger.. hope it helps you.. MY best..

Did you not watch what he was doing? Maybe ask a few questions so you could learn?
