Will somebody tell me how can we ban or stop any world wide web which is already in AIR? Leave aside orkut or any other website which is being transmitted from servers located outside India how can we stop there transmission in India? If it was Indian server in action we could asked them to stop it’s transmission from the soil of India, but if the server are stationed abroad how can Indian Government take any action under the Information & Technology Act, 2000. Can some one please explain this to me? I would welcome the great officials of Shiv Sena if you have some knowledge of cyber technology & laws please explain this to me. It’s very simple to come out in prossesion, breaking cyber café, & asks for thing which is impossible, God has given brains to us to apply but we just forget this & start thing which is nothing but hooliganism as in this case.

Absolutely not. No one is forcing anyone else to access Orkut. If you dont like it, dont use it. In any event, even if certain political groups like the Shiv Sena want Orkut to be banned, they should have the guts to approach the courts, rather than resorting to violent protests, vandalism and assault and intimidation of cyber cafe patrons. The police are to be condemned for failing to take action against these politically backed vandals, not only in the Orkut case but even in the case where the Railway Board exam centre was attacked, exam papers destroyed and exam candidates beaten up. What was their crime? Not 'enough' Maharashtrian candidates were appearing for the exam. Who has forced the Maharashtrian youth not to appear? If anything should be banned, it is these very same political groups who indulge in illegal violent protests at the drop of a hat.

No... not at all. There are many websites which are more harmful then orkut... why not ban them all. Let orkut decides to take action against violent or illegal activities.

lets discard the right of free expression. then we can legally and moraly ban orkut.
u can ban it untill we have right to free expression, it will not right to ban orkut. but there should be some censorship to restrict character assignation.

Banning something will not be a solution. If you close one door another one will open.Just ignore or you are always free to express your own views in a proper and fitting manner.
