Note that it against the law as originally passed to require the social security card to be used as an ID.

NO WAY!

All this rollox of under age drinking, police searches to see if ur Muslim or not etc... etc... etc.... So much hastle would be stopped since these silly ID card companies are not accepted by every place anyways. So a national ID would be great. Time we stopped f'ing around and just got one. The Chinese seem to do ok with their 1.6 billion citizens so why not the UK?

Every ID you have now costs you something already. You driver's lisence, your credit cards, anything you use costs you money already. Even my military ID cost me YEARS of my life to get. And even then it say "property of the US government" right on it.

yes i would, because no body wants them, and they're rediculously expensive. Perhaps if the government stopped claiming so much in their expenses, stopped giving the scots free uni and medicines, and got rid of the useless bosses in the NHS they would have enough money to pay for them for us.

Enjoy your life on the margins. I know it's a pain to have to identify yourself on occasion, but the benefits are worth it. My drivers license costs money, I have been charged for a work ID, my passport didn't come cheap. I can't imagine my life without them

There is a push amongst the states to pass laws saying they won't fund or foot the bill labor-wise to enact RealID. That may be our only chance.....
