The only book that I can think of is one that I'll be reading this summer:

*Yellow Raft in Blue Water* by Michael Dorris

Here's what it's about (I'm going to use the blurb on the back of the copy that I just bought because I think that it's a good one):

Michael Dorris's contemporary classic novel is a fierce saga of three generations of Indian women, beset by hardships and torn by angry secrets, yet inextricably joined by the bonds of kinship. Starting in the present day and moving back in time, the novel is told in the voices of three women: fifteen-year-old part-black Rayona, searching for a way to find herself; her American Indian mother, Christine, consumed by tenderness and resentment toward those she loves; and the fierce and mysterious Ida, mother and grandmother, whose haunting secrects, betrayals, and dreams echo through the years, braiding together the strands of the shared past--and their future

Hope this helps and Happy reading!

Oh, and try *Love Medicine* by Louise Erdrich. I haven't read it, but I know that it's about Native Americans in North Dakota. It was recommended to me by a girl whose opinion I trust :D. Here the website for more info:

Not Native American but a good series of romance novels that you will love is the Knight family series by Gaelen Foley. Start with "The Duke".

The Lakota Way: Stories and Lessons for Living
by Joseph M. Marshall III

Good book. Marshall divides the book into twelve (12) main sections. A section for each of the Lakota core values: bravery, fortitude, generosity, wisdom, respect, honor, perseverance, love, humility, sacrifice, truth, and compassion. Marshall provides a different handed-down (folklore) story to highlight and demonstrate the importance of each quality.
