OK let me start out by sayin:ONLY SERIOUS ANSWERS PLEASE.
Here's the thing, i went to the ER a couple of times because I was sick. I then applied for charity care and i was approved 100%. Then i received the bills from the hospital, i received two types of bills, one from the hospital and one from the doctors.
The charity care covered all the hospital bills, but when i called for the doctor's bills they told me they do not accept charity care. I was surprised because if I cant pay the hospital it is obvious that i cant pay the doctors either.
Please let me know if anyone else had this problem before and what did you guys do to solve this?

thank you!

Hospitals usually have a benefactors plan. People with a lot of money have feelings for a certain hospital that has helped them, they then donated a lot of money to help people in need. I was on this program. They of course don't pay the doctors whom work privately at the hospital, they receive no pay from the hospital but, use they're facilities. They in fact, may have to pay the hospital to use these said facilities so, they try to get this back by charging you, they eat too.

You must go to the County and apply for aide through the State for Medicaid, if you meet there standards they'll help you. They go back (Grandfather the bill) usually back four months, so as to cover all costs.

Good luck

I don't know where you are located but where I am we have Social Services. You can apply for food stamps and medicaid. The medicaid will pay the dr bills. Just take the bill with you when you go to apply.

Make an arrangement with the doctor to pay the bills a little at a time. If you don't have a job, now it's time to get one.

That's how the rest of us do it. In the past, I have taken a second job as a janitor when extra bills have come up. That's just life.
