Life has never been simpler, 60 years ago most of the planet was recovering from a world war, displaced and starving people all over the world. Any harshness in today's society in comparison is trivial. There will always be somebody suffering somewhere, but to suggest the world today seems so harsh when the author is affluent enough to have access to a computer and has enough finance to go on-line and ask this question seems laughable.

Look on the bright side. Stop to smell the roses. Look at little babies sleeping or smell their unique baby smell. Learn to appreciate and show gratitute for the simple things that we are blessed with. The world today is going to be the same harsh world tomorrow. Who knows when our time might be up? just enjoy what we have today cos the world is not going to change for the better unless we change for the better.
