A splendid query! I often am annoyed by the whole Sch. cat concept. It's like the whole "if a tree falls in the forest does anyone hear it?" etc. Both are silly mental exercises. It's like saying the world revolves only around your observation.
So, if I close my eyes, reality ceases to exist. If I don't see you for a few years, you don't age. It's all silly.
Meow.

Then you would know the cat was alive you would have your answer. Then when schrodinger opened the box the cat would claw his face in annoyance at being put in a box.

If you hear a sound it means that energy has been dissapated - therefore according to QM, the wavefunction has been destroyed (or more technically has become discontinuous) and therefore we would have to repeat the experiment again.

It would ruin the whole experiment and we'd have to start all over again.
