Sorry, the bra has to come off. To make you more comfortable, make sure they give you two gowns ( one front and one back ). It'll be OK. No worries.

Depends on what spine X-rays they are taking...
Cervical (neck) OK to leave bra on.

Thoracic (chest area)= no bra or sports bra with no metal in it.

Lumbar (low back)= probably OK as long as you are not wearing one of those old granny bras with like 4 big hooks..

The best suggestion is to not wear any metal,no necklace.(rings on fingers are ok)..don't wear a bra if you must wear a sports bra..dress very casual plain shirt and sweat pants...you should be good to go..or wear a summer dress
.you may not have to change at all

As the person before said, it interferes with the xray. I've got an old one where I put my hand on my tummy as they took the photo and my rings and fingers all showed up. Metal shows up white on xrays and so they can't see the bones behind it (since bones are also white on the films).

They'll usually ask you to remove it and put you in one of those freezing gowns. Don't worry, it doesn't take long and you're not completely starkers. Alternately, wear a bra with plastic clips, no underwire or metal clasps. You should be able get away with that but I'm not a radiologist and can't recall what plastic shows up like. I THINK it's okay.

Best of luck! It'll be over in no time!

You may be able to get away with wearing a sports bra. One with no under wire or metal objects in it at all, but just a cover up. Or try a tube top for a cover up, but it really depends on the technician's views whether or not. You may want to bring?wear it and worse comes to worse, you would have 2 take it off! Best of luck to you now! Kimpossible 707

Wear a sports bra (no metal) and tell the technician that you are not comfortable taking yours off. They will take xrays anyway, there will be no interference. If you must, tell them your MD said it was OK and told you to wear the sports bra during the procedure.

Hope this helps

Ask the technician at the place where the X-rays are being taken. It may depend on whether you have any metal in the bra.

Trust me on this one: They have been asked much more frequently than you can believe.

no u cant. i had one the other month. they ask u to take basically everything off. earrings, bra, belts etc. anything thats got metal in it interferes with the spine picture... cos they usually take one from the front aswel. if u really want to keep it on... u mite be able to. i kept my earrings in cos i only had em done a couple days before! depends why ur gettin it done i suppose

not a big issue...cozz that doesnt make much difference.. the density of bone is thousand time more than ur lucky bra. wear bra which has no metal clips.

Probably better not too, since the metal clips will show up on the film and could potentially interfere with visualization.

I think its ok as long as it doesn't have hooks or an underwire.

Wear a sports bra.
