I am two months pregnant, I have no energy. I'm constantly fatigued, and all I want to do is sleep. I've been taking my prenatals, and I've managed to eat healthy. So far I haven't had any morning sickness, but have lost an appetite for certain foods. I force myself to eat something, just becuase I know I have too. Is there anything I can do or take to get my energy back? I was up all night crying because I was so sad that I can't get anything done during the day.

In the early stages of pregnancy it is normal to feel this tired, don’t let it get to you hun. I know it’s hard but it is normal. The good news is you will feel better around 4 or 5 mths, and then get tired again at the end of your pregnancy. My advice is to enjoy sleep while you can, because in the last mths you will never be able to get comfortable enough to get a good night sleep lol. Keep eating well and taking your iron and folate (if that’s what your doc has given you) and maybe talk to your doc or pharmacy about any other pregnancy supplement you can take to help. At this stage your baby is taking all the goodness from you as its growing, so make sure you are getting enough and that will help with your energy. All the best, and congratulations!!! :)

In the first few months of pregnancy it is normal to have no energy. It is all being used up by your body forming the baby. It does go away and your energy will return, as for the crying your hormones are at an elevated level and your emotions are going to run wild. With my last pregnancy everything made me cry! Don't worry about not getting anything done during the day. If you have more energy at night try to do it then. Work around your fatigue, right now your body knows what it needs and it need you to rest and relax. It will get better. Congrats and good luck!

Pregnant No Energy

It's a normal part of your 1st trimester. Have you had your prenatal CBC--that's a blood count. If you were anemic, it would contribute to your fatigue. The best thing is to complete small tasks throughout the week, instead of trying to get all your housework and/or chores done in 1 day. It does get better. You should start feeling increased energy levels starting weeks 12-14, although everyone is different. For my 2nd pregnancy, the energy boost came at week 9. Take naps, go to bed early, eat well, and don't be so hard on yourself. You are pregnant. Your body is going through intense changes every minute. You are GROWING a baby! :) Good luck!

Tom O is a moron!!!

Ok, with that being said I was the exact same way. I was so tired. I would be sitting at my desk as work and feel sure that I could just go right to sleep right there! I was in bed by 7:30pm and almost always out cold sleeping by 8:30pm. I missed all the good shows that season!!

This got a little better once I was in my second trimester, but for me I was generally tired throughout my whole pregnancy. My husband still jokes that it was his best hockey watching season ever!

I sure hope you feel more energetic soon. Try to eat healthy energy boosting foods. Try to stay as active as possible and try to remain positive. Also, try not to beat yourself up for the small things that didn't get done and don't be afraid to ask for help from your significant other, family and friends. :)

I remember that feeling! There's nothing you can do -- the rapid growth of your baby is taking all of your extra energy. The good news is that you will feel better when you get to 4- 5 months along. Then you will be tired again in the last 2 months of your pregnancy.

Don't worry about getting anything done. You are getting the most important thing done -- making your baby!

right now you are supposed to be tired. this is totally normal, so don't worry and just get the sleep your body is telling you it needs. in your first trimester, you will be very tired and fatigue. just let it ride out.
in my first tri i was so sleep all the time. i had to take naps on my lunch breaks at work. and when i got home i was asleep around 7ish. so don't be alarmed.
have you even been to the Doc yet. they should have told you all the things you will or can experience with each time frame.
anyway, around the second tri you will regain some energy and start functioning much better.

I had no energy, so it was diagnosed that I was anemic and I was put on 2 iron pills a day for a month which was decreased to 1 iron pill a day, check with your provider.
