swing the remote does not seam like a big excercize

It depends on the game you are playing and how you play it. Games like Super Paper Mario, although it is fun, it doesn't exercise anything except your fingers. If you play Wii sports, however, games like tennis and boxing...clear a space in the living room and get up and move around to play and you will work up a sweat pretty quickly. I wouldn't use it as your only weight loss plan though...

It depends how you're playing it. If you're laying on the couch swinging the Wii remote to hit a home run (which is what I do, just because I do better that way), then your wrist gets a little stronger, but nothing much. If you stand up, and swing hard enough to win your tennis game, then you'll lose weight.

If you play games where you have to do BIG movements, like Wii Sports or Warioware, you may work up a sweat if you play long enough. In fact, both the games I mentioned have modes where it tracks your health (Warioware has a stage that measure how many "Kelories" you've burned [A Kelorie is about 1/1000th of a calorie], Wii Sports tracks your fitness age through Minigames, much like Brain Age.)

The Wii can help you lose weight. If you get into the game and have fun you will be out of your seat jumping around and flinging your arms everywhere. And yes you will sweat. Try one out. Some rental places rent them out and if you can't do that go buy one. Stores are actually getting them in stock now. I do have one all this info is from experience.

it's more exercise than a normal game, like just sitting there moving your fingers is less exercise.

if you want to lose weight playing a game, get DDR.
