I like that phrase. Full of deep meanings and I could understand it.

While agree that when you love someone you do sacrifice some things, I don't agree with the first part. To survive, you don't necessarily have to be filled with hatred and revenge. In fact, after my divorce hatred and revenge didn't motivate me at all. Once my bastard of an ex was out of the house, I felt free and that made me do what I did to survive.

It sounds like a feeling that was reached by an adolescent that had his or her heart broken.
Something that a teen would put in a poem or song.
I think the second part shoud read- whereas love means "to" give up things.

dont like it, and dont agree with it, love is not about giving things up, its about hope and happiness and the future, thats the way to survive
