The whole thing was a disaster I think it was a sign LOL. First we got a ice storm that day and the day before it was real nice it was actually the first ice storm of the year. And around here everything shuts down. The chapel where we were getting married called and said they closed their doors. It was at a community center but they would leave the doors open for our wedding. My wife's parents called and said they wont come because of the snow and ice. in fact several people canceled. The hair dresser canceled but she got another person to do her hair. Finally her parents decide to go but her Grandmas boyfriend was having asthma attacks so he couldn't go and he was suppose to sing. And Ironically he died a couple weeks later because of that he never recovered. The piano player canceled but we had a organ player and a piano player and the organ player showed up but she charged us when she said she would do it for free because we were friends. When I picked up my tux it was too big and a friend of mines who was one of the groomsman was too small they switched them LOL. Anyways the wedding finally started two hours late and many people left right after words we had about 40 people at the reception nobody danced and everybody left after the ate except for my parents and grandparents. The limo driver was suppose to be there at 9 and most of the people were gone by 8. Anyways it was a night mare LOL. I think God was warning me not to marry her LOL

Well when I married my ex-husband, we had a quicky ceremony. It wasn't all that memorable. That should have set off the red alert right there. Bob and I are getting married in another year, and I can't wait! I am going to have the wedding I want this time around. And this time I am sure I am marrying the right guy :-)

The preacher didn't show up! (We didn't know it, but there had been a major car crash that closed the interstate.) Our best man remembered that the president of the university in the town was an ordained minister and he went and found him and asked him if he would fill in and he did. Off the cuff, he performed the most beautiful wedding ceremony.

A relative, sang ave maria.

It was a modest sized church - and modest wedding in comparison to some, but the moment was truly beautiful. The acoustics, echoing around the stone walls and high ceilings.
I love the hymn anyway, but in that setting it was perfect.
I can hear it now as I write and I remember too my father`s memory ( he passed away a few years earlier), was very much in my memory during this moment. I suppose you may wonder why my wife did not feature in my answer. Because thats a given

The Divorce

Ceremony:
Walking down the aisle with my parents and seeing my hubby waiting for me.
The fact that I had to get him to smile versus cry in the middle of our vows.
Reception:
Best Man's speech: "M, I knew furiousrain007 was ok when you came over to play computer games and she came with and had no complaints!" --(his prior gf's always complained.)
Our First dance (was actually the first time that we had ever danced together) seemed forever long. Neither of us like to be the center of attention.
The DJ scolding him because he just grabbed the garter and pulled it off... "I still have... a minute and 18 seconds of that song left!!!"

We had a great time.

The sweat dripping off my hubby's nose...honestly...it was 102 and the church had no air conditioning. The pastor said "kiss the bride" and all I saw was sweat dripping off his nose...LMAO!
We are going to be married 16 years Aug 2ND and the image is as vivid as it was that day!!
