This may sound stupid, but do computers actually require oxygen to function?

No, they usually require air for cooling, but not oxygen.

I have been working on these things for years now and have not found a pair of lungs or gills or any type of device used for oxygen exchange inside any of them.
However they do need a constant supply of air circulating through them to help keep the processor and memory cool.
thats what the fans are for.

air for the fan to keep it cool inside is all. oxygen not at all part of the scheme of things.

They do if you want them to explode, but if you don't, better not. Hey, you've still got the rest of the atmosphere to pump out all the heat, right?
