I'm not absolutely positve, but pretty sure the NFL has a clause that the Super Bowl must be played in a dome if the Avg temp is below 40 degrees in that month. Meaning, New York, New England, Green Bay, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Chicago....etc etc...are all screwed and will NEVER get a super bowl. Which is BS in my opnion. I could care less about Paris Hilton and her little rat dog in her purse freezing just to be seen at a superbowl. She doesn't even know what a zone blitz is, but her, and many others are just there to be seen. It's pathetic. For all the good stuff the NFL has going for it, they really screw up the super bowl for the real fans that made them the billionaires that they are.

They will always play in a dome for the superbowl...it's like a rule beuz they don't want the weather to conflict with the game in any way

It should be but it won't happen. Superbowl tickets cost too much for the real fans to afford them. Rich people that can afford it don't want to sit out in the snow or cold for an afternoon.
I'd love to see it in Green Bay, Chicago, or Buffalo. Play it in the snow. It would be great and if some rich guy doesn't like it I'd be happy to go freeze my *** off to watch it with his ticket.
How can people say its more fair to play in a warm weather climiate? You think its not hard to some team like Buffalo or the Packers to go from cold and winter to play in Arizona where its hot? Its always going to favor the team that plays and practices in that type of weather.

If it is in a cold weather state, it will be in a dome. The NFL doesn't want the weather to be a deciding factor in a game. Besides, if you paid $3000 for a ticket, would you want to sit in the freezing cold, snow & rain on a metal bench for 4 hours?

it will be in DET & INDY in a couple yrs, but those stadiums are domes or have retractable roofs. NFL is looking to play the superbowl in NY, which is pretty cold in early february. that will be the 1st cold weather city superbowl in an outdoor stadium

ONLY IN A DOME BECAUSE COLD WEATHER NOT ONLY IS TUFF ON FANS AND EQUIPMENT BUT THE OUTCOME OF THE GAME WILL BE EFFECTED BECAUSE THE BEST TEAM WONT ALWAYS WIN..JUST LOOK AT THE ADVANTAGE THE BUFFALO BILLS GOT IN THE EARLY 90'S BY HOSTING COLD WEATHER CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES AND HOW BAD THEY WERE IN THE WARM WEATHER SUPERBOWLS WHEN THE ODDS WERE EVEN.

That would be sweet!
I have a couple great venues for you but the location should not be selected until the weather forecast comes in. Select the worst forecast and play the game! :)
1) Seattle in freezing rain
2) Green Bay in a -15 degree Alberta clipper
3) Chicago or Cleveland in the fog
4) Buffalo or Foxboro in a Lake Erie blizzard

Sure but only if it's domed or covered....as much as Packer fans would love to host a super bowl....could you imagine a superbowl in wisconsin in February.......brrrrrrrrrrrrr.... the ice bowl would have been a cake walk. Minnesota and Detroit would be the only ones north that could do it.

probably not because the league wants the SB to be the fairest game of the season and if it is cold, how is that going to fair for the Chargers? Cold weather teams can play in warm weather, but not the other way around insome cases.
