Cool! The best way I've found good volunteer opportunities is to ask around and look online. Try to find a local support group for families with disabled kids, look for a local school/care center for disabled kids in your area (try the phone book, or search yahoo for your town and words like "disabled"). It also depends if there's a certain type of disability that you want to work with, since diff organizations have diff specific disabilities sometimes. Probably, you could find opportunities to spend time with the kids--playing with them, doing crafts, reading, etc. If you can't find an organization specific to disabled kids, then contact a local mentoring organization (big brothers big sisters is a common one in the US). They're likely to have information about where you can volunteer with disabled kids, or they might have disabled kids in their organization that you could work with.
Have fun!

The best place for a person to volunteer to help children, with or without disabilties, is through a local charity or church that has an established program year-round. Being bored is not a good reason to volunteer though. I don't know of any drop-in status volunteer program in any state.
Go to the local Boys and Girls Club or Y and ask about volunteering to be a mentor to a special needs child.

Well social work is not really something you volunteer in, social work is a professional discipline. However, you can volunteer in human service, health, and related areas. Your best bet would be to volunteer in a hospital, they are often looking for volunteers around the holidays. You might also look at a day care or similar program, they may take an intern. DA

Call your local department of family services and ask what volunteer is available. If you belong to a church that does not have programs, research what your community needs and develop a program to meet these needs.
You will be amazed how many other poeple want to do some volunteer work.

I extremely have 3 toddlers with disabilities. there isn't any way i could enable a company to torture my toddlers. There are different procedures. the college and the mothers and fathers are the extremely handicapped for that reason. between the academics and the mothers and fathers, toddlers with disabilities could nicely be helped and taught to act properly.

Ring some organization, tell them your telants etc and you most like need to get a police check or full out paper work.
I am not sure about where you live but in Queensland you need a positive card, as well as a blue card. (they both have the same check)
