In the TopGear show they said that the Evo is a car for men and the Impreza a car for boys. Not that the difference was that great but the feeling you got was more aggressive in the Evo. Nevertheless, when you buy a car what is very important is how you feel about it. You have to enjoy it from the moment you see it, to when you get in and close the door, to the point you switch the engine and step on it!!!

Can't give you any statistics but a customer of mine is a bit of a petrol head and at the moment has
- An Evo 9
- Impreza WRX
- BMW Z4

(He's also got an Evo 10 on order that he's waiting for)

According to him he rarely uses the Z4, although it's a lovely car he doesn't get as much enjoyment out of the drive.
He likes the EVo but has often claimed that the handling isn't very good and the drive is a little rough.
The Subaru is his fave and the one he always drives.

Not sure if the Evo is limited to 155 or not but both cars are obviously fast so there's no danger of been left behind by a Chav in a Corsa at the traffic lights!!!

We were debating this question the other day. One technician had a 2006 WRX STI and now the new oil change guy has a highly modified EVO 7. Brand New for Brand new The Mitsubushi Has better seats. Either car is a Candle burning on both ends lots of boost makes plenty of power but causes lots of engine wear. And this power you get used to really fast.... On gos a cat back system POP charger intake.Just noticablely loulder and a little more power. Next pay check performance Y pipe or cat elimination down pipe "there gos your warranty" You never mind saying for the first 6 months it held up. Dyno day your car is making less power than stock and there is a guy with one that is using a laptop to remap the fuel settings Completely stock or so he says that rund circles around your EVO 9 :-( or STI :-( SO you buy another ECM Scrounge a lap top and start learning power is addicting. 9 months have past Your Hot rod is getting normal looking you see them everywhere. I Know Better Wheels and tires! and just in time the front tires were worn to the cord... Must of been those burnouts fryday night! Wider Better and good looking but yout time in the 1/8 mile went down? bigger rims weigh more. There is that guy with the completely stock looking (9) STI and he still is out running every one ??? Turns out 10 months have gone by and the motor mount on your broke and clutch is slipping and the dealer finds your racing times on line at the local strip or driving school at the road racing track and completely VOIDS your warranty. NOW what do you do? E-bay seller needs money to go to school? Nice example EVO-STI new wheels Just back from the shop new clutch center differential larger intercooler.... ANd your experment with BOY RACER cars was to say the least expensive. AND would any one buy a car they knew was driven like it was stolen? Then you find out that stock one is owned by the oil change guy at the Subarau/mitsubushi dealer and it is a special world rallie edition.

Time and time again this comparison has been done to death by numerous magazines. And every time either one is barely better than the other and most reviews have come up with the same conclusion, they are basically the same. One might be slighty faster or more agile but they are inherently both the same road built rally sports car. I would just go for whatever you can acquire more cheaply.
